The ASEAN Foundation initiates this programme by developing a guidebook/manual which is the tool to guide
the simulation process to understand ASEAN meetings. At the same time, the ASEAN Foundation will create a web portal embedded in its official website that can serve as a clearing house of Model ASEAN Meeting information.

In the implementation period, the ASEAN Foundation is keen to collaborate with partners that have interest
in raising public awareness of ASEAN and its work to develop an ASEAN community that are people-centred,
where all sectors of society can contribute to and enjoy the benefits from a more integrated and connected
ASEAN Community.

The ASEAN Foundation initiates this programme to better guide interested and current organisers of Model ASEAN Meetings by offering a guidebook as a tool to understand ASEAN meetings better. At the same time, the ASEAN Foundation intends to be a depository of Model ASEAN STRATEGY Meeting’s documents by encouraging current and future organisers to share their materials in order to popularise this programme. Currently, no clearing house exists to support current Model ASEAN Meeting initiatives.

The Model ASEAN Meeting in Kuala Lumpur is made possible with support from the ASEAN – U.S. Partnership
for Good Governance, Equitable and Sustainable Development and Security (ASEAN – U.S. PROGRESS), a joint project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. State Department, and ASEAN, implemented by Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI), an international development agency.

The ASEAN Foundation is keen to collaborate with more private sector partners interested in building a peoplecentred ASEAN Community and nurturing characters of young people as future leaders of Southeast Asian nations.
